2016 AMERICAN WINE SOCIETY TOP 50 ALL-TIME LEADERS ANNOUNCED.  EXCITED TO SEE THAT I MOVED UP AGAIN THIS YEAR FROM #26 TO #24.

​2016 American Wine Society Awards. Silver medal 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) / Zinfandel (10%). Bronze medals 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (66%) / Sangiovese (34%), 2014 Zinfandel, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015 Sangiovese, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (84%) / Sangiovese (16%).


​OCTOBER 2016

​​PURCHASED PREMIUM JUICE FROM WASHINGTON STATE AND SONOMA COUNTY CALIFORNIA.  3 GALLONS EACH OF SAUVIGNON BLANC AND CHARDONNAY FROM WASHINGTON STATE AND 6 GALLONS CHARDONNAY FROM SONOMA. 


PREPARED WINE ENTRIES FOR THE 2016 AMERICAN WINE SOCIETY AMATUER COMPETITION. I HAVE 12 ENTRIES THIS YEAR.

NOVEMBER 2015
STARTED A FALL VINTAGE OF CABERNET SAUVIGNON AND MERLOT FROM NAPA VALLEY CALIFORNIA PREMIUM JUICE.  MAKING 2 1/2 CASES EACH.

JULY 2015 UPDATE
TODAY I FILTERED AND POLISHED MY FALL 2014 CALIFORNIA VINTAGE, NEARLY 50 GALLONS. NEXT STEP WILL BE BOTTLING THE WINE.

DECEMBER 2014 UPDATE
PICKED UP VINO SUPERIORE FROZEN JUICE DIRECT FROM THE HEART OF TUSCANY, ITALY. 100% ORGANIC AND DOCG CERTIFIED.  MAKING SANGIOVESE, WHICH WILL YIELD ABOUT 2 1/2 CASES. 

Excited to be making white wine from both Washington State and Sonoma County California and red wine from Red Hills, Lake County, and Paso Robles California this Fall.

Welcome to Roccograndi Wine where wine is made with family and friends. I'm always updating things here with fresh, new pictures from my latest vintages. Stop by often to get updates on our latest wines and see pictures of our progress.


I get many requests to sell my wine.  I am not a winery but rather make wine as a hobby. State and federal law does not permit me to sell, distribute, or ship alcohol.

"vino fatto con la famiglia e gli amici"

translates, "Wine made with Family and Friends"


The pictures above are of my dad's wine cellar, dug out of an old coal room. This wine cellar maintained the perfect temperature and humidity for making and storing wine. I will always have very fond memories of spending time with my dad and brother (Tom) crafting wine. I can only dream of having this type of room in my house, but my memories will serve just as well. Thank you Pop for teaching me this wonderful craft. I hope my boys will follow in our foot steps.
